WELCOME TO CASUAL SNEAKERHEADS ANONYMOUS
About the blog
Sneaker induced depression. I know the feeling. You just saw a fresh pair of kicks and you just have to cop a pair. Maybe you’re basic like me (much to my chagrin) and saw them on TikTok or Pinterest. Maybe you keep up with the latest sneaker reports such as BR Kicks or House of Heat. Or maybe you consider yourself something of a sneaker head.
Whatever the case, you look up the shoes you want to buy and have to spend the next few minutes scraping your jaw up off the floor after seeing the exorbitant price for what you previously assumed to be a basic pair of sneakers.
You go through the 5 stages of grief. Denial, no way they can get away with charging that for some plastics and leather, everyone knows it costs like $20 to make them. Anger, we used to be a country. A proper Country. Bargaining, if there is some sort of sale in the future, any type of sale at all, then they’ll be worth it. Depression, why does God give his toughest battles to his drippiest soldiers? Acceptance, I’ll be stuck with the same beat up Air Force 1’s forever
But you don’t have to be. My name is Franklin Thurlow, and for the better part of a decade, I’ve been surviving as a sneakerhead with a terminally low budget. In this blog, I will offer insights on how to find alternatives to sneakers that are out of your price range or preference, or how to find the ones you want for far less.
I cannot wait to upload more content and if you stick around, you can avoid the tragic fate of sneaker induced depression.
