he NBA playoffs are upon us, with round two starting this weekend. Hope springs eternal in fans, as their favorite teams battle in seven game series to determine who survives and advances. For sneakerheads, it is also a great time of year to see players rock their signature shoes on the court.
For this week’s blog, I decided to take you through the best signature shoes of player’s in this year's playoffs. This means that notable signature’s like Lebron’s will be noticeably absent from the list.
#5-Luka Doncic Signature Jordans, $NA

Luka’s shoes are the newcomer on the market, so there isn’t a ton of information about them and how they perform. Looks wise, this shoe is personally lacking for me. It is very reminiscent of recent Jordans that have dropped recently, with a chunky look without any overall flow or design. As they haven’t been made available to most of the public just yet, I can’t give a review as to how it performs or feels. For now then, these have to stay at the bottom of the list.
#4-Giannis Antetokounmpo’s zoom“Freak” 1&2, $119-220

“The Greek Freak” and the shoes that bear his name are striking on and off the court. The Zoom Freaks have been highly reviewed by basketball players for their comfort, court grip, and ankle stability. Personally, it isn’t a shoe that I would wear off the court, as they have a very elongated look that adds to court grip but can make the shoes look odd on anyone who isn’t over 6’4. Giannis himself is 6’11, and so it makes sense that these shoes were designed with taller members of the population in mind.
#3-Kyrie Irving’s shoes $60-210

The Kyrie shoe line, which numbers 1-7, are among some of the favorites with hoopers. Kyrie Irving has had a lot of input in his shoe’s designs, and this really shows in their functionality. The shoes have excellent bend and traction, and allow for extremely quick cuts which Kyrie is known for. There have been several fun collabs done with the Kyrie shoes, most recently with a SpongeBob pair releasing. Stylistically, they can look a little bulky and odd, as the toe box tends to curl back toward the wearer. I wouldn’t wear them off the court personally.
#2. Kevin Durnat, KD shoes $112-270

The KD shoe line is probably the best out of the list in terms of off court wearability. Kevin Durant embodies the popular phrase “Ball is Life”, and so it would follow that he has partnered with Nike to make shoes that you can wear on the court and then not take off the rest of the day. The shoes stylistically always fly, and my personal favorites are the Aunt Pearls, which come in a colorful assortment.
#1- Steph Curry’s shoes

From a performance standpoint alone, Steph’s shoes win out over all the others. They are a perfect blend of style, comfort and performance. Now granted, I wouldn’t wear some of the earlier Curry shoes off court, as their height emphasized ankle stability which was an issue Steph was battling at the time. Now, with the launch of his very own brand partnered with Under Armour, Curry has been able to put more of his stamp of approval both stylistically and functionally on the shoes. This means they are perfect for making abrupt stops and starts in, and have a nice low profile look.
