For the past three weeks, I have given sneaker alternatives, and even ranked a highly popular sneaker so reader’s know whether to spend money on it.
It occurred to me however, that while I inform the casual sneakerheads where they can find the shoes, I haven’t ranked the specific sites on how likely you are to find quality sneakers for a low price on them.
Therefore, I present the casual sneakerhead’s guide to the best sneaker sites.
#4 StockX
StockX is one of the more popular sneaker shopping sites, which means that there is sure to be plenty of selection. Odds are, if it’s a sneaker, it’s on StockX. The site allows customers to place bids on popular shoes as soon as they drop, as well as on older sneakers that other members are trying to sell. StockX authenticates each pair of shoes that are sold, and so users don’t have to worry about The reason I don’t have StockX listed higher, is because of the often exorbitant prices. The entire app is driven by bidding, and because of this, if a shoe is especially coveted by a particular person, the price can skyrocket even higher than what the shoe is actually worth.
#3 Depop
Depop isn’t strictly a sneaker selling site, nor does it verify shoes’ authenticity. However, when it comes to finding the absolute lowest price point for a pair of sneakers, Depop simply cannot be beat. This sight is for sneakerheads who know exactly what type of shoe they're looking for, and so it is ranked third. The website and app are very user friendly, and it is easy to read seller reviews to see who is trustworthy. I personally use Depop the most out of the three, and have yet to encounter any authenticity issues.
#2 Goat
Goat is another widely used app such as StockX, but can be easier to navigate for someone just casually browsing for sneakers. Goat also has a vast selection of sneakers to choose from, both common and rare, and as prices typically are firm, they tend to stay much more fair. What makes Goat especially unique is that alongside the new sneakers, they list used ones that Goat members are selling as well, so users are sure to find the absolute cheapest pair they can. Goat not only authenticates all second hand shoes that are sold on the site, they also offer a very cheap cleaning service that gets the sneakers looking brand new. When I first started purchasing sneakers online, Goat was the site that I used, and never had a poor experience.
#1 eBay
For some, this may be a bit of a controversial take. Since its inception, eBay has gained, often fairly, a reputation for shady business deals and scammers. However, especially in recent years, eBay has significantly upped its game as it pertains to sneakers. The site has a completely separate section for sneaker selling and buying, and authenticates each sneaker. The price point on eBay for popular sneakers such as Dunks and Yezzys is currently unmatched, which is why I have it listed as the number one site. For a casual sneakerhead who wants authentic sneakers that are highly sought after, eBay is the perfect site. It is extremely user friendly, and without the worry of being scammed, users can make purchases without a second thought.
